Now I know I chose a tough topic for this astro diary entry, volumes have been written and all manner of descriptions given to the term love,  mostly it is the very human experience of personal love, or love between man and woman, and this can be defined as an energy state created to bridge the idea of separateness or aloneness we all can feel in this earthy state of separation, often driven by a very personal or emotional and desire based feeling.

What I want to communicate is a different kind of love, one that is currently becoming increasingly manifest or apparent in the human psyche. One great blessing of being a therapist, or in my case an astrologer, is that clients become our greatest teachers and recently I have been having a crash course in sadness as I sit with individuals living out the conjunction between Chiron and Neptune currently delivering its message. Many people I meet in my work carry a deep sadness which doesn’t suggest the projected or ‘normal’ causes of suffering, such as where is that right lover or ideal job or home? At first it was exhausting and I wondered if I was in the right space for this, but the symbols have become clearer and now I find it rich and exquisite, this sensation of deep sadness and longing coupled with strong traces of guilt. It is lost love or love that can’t be found in a three dimensional world that is revealing itself.

With all the anxiety and pressure emanating from the world we inhabit, many more sensitive individuals are retreating and turning inward, discovering the psyche and some feeling a little overwhelmed by it, I have to speak very conceptually here but before we come to the ‘blessed’ psyche we have to move through the ‘psychic’ realm first, and this place is tainted by memory and what we have remembered appears as suffering.  On this inner journey this is the first place we come to. In many sessions I see the symbol of a lake but it is a lake of sorrow. The temptation is strong to immerse self in this psychic sadness-at least it is not of this world and one can paradoxically feel very secure or even safe here-perhaps this can be likened to the feeling we might experience through regular substance abuse where, as emotional upsets occur, we step into this lake and swim listlessly about, sad to be there but glad to surrender to the siren song of a place that is at least familiar,

So, on this particular path of love it is very important not to immerse self in this psychic phenomenon, be aware of the darkness of habitual past contained within and find a way to circumnavigate it. This may take some conscious control but if not snared by this trap by developing awareness then next on the journey is the ‘blessed’ psyche I mentioned before. Here we begin to gain tremendous intuition, insight and clarity.

Prayers are answered in that there is a feeling of proximity to spirit, here are the memories of ascendant masters and angels and a sense of egolessness, the beginning of a state of pure love of which the only analogy I can describe existentially is the love bubble we can experience for a short duration when we feel we have found our twin soul or soul mate. There is however no time frame in the “blessed” psyche and so this love is ours forever. It can never leave us, only us leave it, by identifying with the illusion of duality or self and believing in this separate world.

It is the realisation of this non-separate love that Neptune and Chiron are attempting to convey at this point in time, and my heartfelt thanks goes to those souls who make it their mission to heal the woundedness in their being by finding love and emanating it that so that we might all be reminded!
