The other day must have been ‘Yellow Butterfly Day’… literally hundreds of yellow butterflies weaved around my car as I drove through the hills behind Byron. This exceptional sight was another reminder of the delicate beauty that exists in this natural wonderland.

Often we take these delights for granted, missing simple moments of magnificence that are available to us all; a flower opening, a child’s smile—or a little rainbow cloud floating by. Yes, the rainbow cloud on the cover of this issue is real, no Photoshop or special effect camera lenses was needed.

The rainbow cloud appeared above us as we were jumping off Flat Rock into the Rocky River, near Tabulum—pure and clean, illuminated by golden rays of light glistening off the smooth stony bottom. A group of Indigenous boys walked through the water,  in  single file, following the caretaker of this sacred land, Lewis Walker, who was the head of this snake line weaving down stream to find bingin. Above this beautiful sight the little rainbow cloud hovered alone, resting in sky blue open space, an invitation to dreamtime.

It is a privilege to publish the feature article in this issue. Swami Deva Arpana is thrilled to be able share his voice and connect with his community. Currently, and for a while yet, Arpana is incaserated and unable to relish in the freedom and connections this region has to offer. His words are wise and provide a first-hand and intimate look at time spent in jail.

Choosing to find a way to use the experience as positively as possible, Arpana describes how he enters into each moment as fully present and conscious as possible, meditative and intuitive, all the while sharing his enlightening attitude with those around him. I am told he is valued on the inside, recognised as a calming and positive influence upon the other inmates.

Everyone makes mistakes. Some are bigger than others, some result in harsher consequences and longer resolve. Many artists explain their best masterpieces  often come from  their mistakes.

It is possible for some mistakes to quickly turn into rewarding learning curves, providing great insights and reflection... and then there are those who don’t consider mistakes to be anything more than opportunities to grow and evolve.

As a baby learns to walk it will often take a one step and fall, get up, step again, only to fall once more. They don’t lie there berating themselves for stumbling, and most seem to have little or no interest in other people’s judgment. They are eager to find a way  to get up again, and have another go.

A man of genius makes no mistakes.  His errors are volitional and are the portals of discovery.~James Joyce, Ulysses

This ever-emerging publication is a place where people have the chance to share their passions, perceptions and positions. The next issue of Injoy Magazine  is number 12, the SECOND BIRTHDAY EDITION, which is certainly something to celebrate, and this shows that ‘feel good’ media does have a welcomed place in  our society.

beauty and blessings, Bhadrena   x :)

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said, “My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.
