Most everyone loves to celebrate at a wedding, or a birth, but when it comes to death we are more inclined to mourn and grieve, or put a lid on our feelings and just get on with what needs to be done. In some cultural practices women will grieve outwardly, openly and intensely, some use sound and movement to express their feelings.

2-pole-dancers

Pole Dancing is an extension of the age-old art of exotic dance. Its history can be traced back to the times of ancient Sumeria, where the myth surrounds Innana, the goddess of love, who descended into Hades to find her lover, Damouz. At each of the seven gates of Hades, Innana danced and removed a veil and a jewel. Her dance is known as the Dance of the Seven Veils of Salome, connected to King Herod in the Old Testament.

chinta

Vibrations created through drumming travel through the body at a profound level, a cellular level and any trauma that is held in the body is touched, vibrated and loosened, and hopefully if the rhythm is played well, it can be released. It is similar to tapping on a glass of water and bubbles will come up from the bottom and rise to the surface eventually and naturally disappearing through vibration resonance.

blue-star-glass-creationSacred geometry is the architecture of the universe. The molecules of our DNA, the snow flake, pinecones, flower petals, diamond crystals, the branching of trees, the nautilus shell, the star we spin around, the air we breath, and all life forms as we know them emerge out of timeless geometric codes imbedded in sacred geometry. The ancients believed that the experience of sacred geometry was essential to the education of the soul, knowing these patterns and codes were symbolic of our own inner realm and the subtle structure of all existence.

Persistence of Memory

Volumes of literature have been published concerning the upcoming galactic/planetary alignment on December 21st 2012 and yet as we inch inexorably toward this so-called end date most people still seem to be buried in their personal life stories and, at least on the surface, it looks like business as usual. That, despite a creeping anxiety in most corners of the planet that things just aren’t the way they used to be. Somewhere in the nether reaches of conscious awareness people who once had strong values, beliefs and principles are realising they can’t trust in the old ways anymore.

garbage-truck

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport.  We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches!

The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean he was really friendly.

That the birds of worry and care fly above your head, this you cannot change, but that they build nests in your hair, this you can prevent.
