The Byron Bay Writers Festival 2010 celebrates its fourteenth year by presenting a bumper line up of writers and thinkers across all literary genres, keen to dissect the most electric contemporary issues. Festival dates are 6-8 August, with workshops beginning 2 August.

At one extreme of the literary spectrum is queen of the quip, Kathy Lette (pictured).
Macquarie Group, Festival Marquee sponsor, has generously supported her attendance at the Festival and hilarity and mayhem is sure to follow in her elegant wake.
As Jeni says “There is a certain justice in welcoming Kathy to the Festival this year after the enormous impact made by her husband, Geoffrey Robertson’s, participation in 2009. One can only imagine what their domestic arrangements can be like, with two huge intellects and personalities to match, Geoffrey’s stream of human rights activists and Kathy’s retinue of writers and entertainers. I expect Kathy to challenge our audiences in all kinds of ways. Thank you, Macquarie, for thinking big with us!”
This is a annual community event with international stature: the Byron Bay Writers Festival celebrates Words Without Walls.
3 day passes are available for the Byron Bay Writers Festival and provide access to over ninety sessions and the huge white marquees on the Festival site.
