I’m 12 years old now and am getting bored. I already want to be 13!... AND I’m already thinking of what I want to do on my13th birthday and that’s 8 MONTHS away! I think that there are good and not-so-good things about growing up! In fact I spend a lot of the time arguing with myself… One minute I WANT to be ALREADY grown up, the next… I JUST want to stay being a kid, running around in the yard getting mud between my toes. ARRRRGH!

When I talk to my friends from Holland they always sound excited when I tell them I live near Byron Bay. Apparently Byron is regarded as a global hot spot... the perfect place; a spot of paradise on our planet with beautiful beaches, restaurants, rainforests and pubs. For adults there are lots of social things to do like nightclubs, bars, parties, and over 18 festivals. However for me and my peers - I’m a 15 year old girl - there are some daytime activities like surfing, going to the beach and hanging out at friend’s houses, but once the sun goes down we haven’t got much to choose from… there really isn’t much for us young people to do at night.

Expressive Therapy uses a range of self-discovery processes to bypass the logical mind and tap into that world we know exists but cannot seem to comprehend consciously. This experiential and holistic way of working involves more than ‘just talking about the problem’, and provides the opportunity for real and lasting change.

Recently Kidzone After School Care in Federal NSW was threatened with closure. The issue was lack of funding and fluctuating enrolment numbers—it certainly wasn’t the quality of this service, which has been well recognised since it first began more than 15 years ago. After school care really is a vital resource in any community, as every working parent would understand... but the value of this type of care goes way beyond a fundamental need for working parents, and some may not realise this.

Many schools have adopted a Virtue’s Program, and many families incorporate virtues into their daily life and way of being. Anyone can adopt this practice, but Francesca has specifically initiated the Virtues Proposal for schools around the country.
